About us
At EarthOptics, a deeper understanding of soil is the key to unlocking unprecedented productivity and efficiency in agriculture.
From our inception, EarthOptics has been rooted in innovation. In collaboration with MIT, we secured a license for localized ground-penetrating radar and pioneered integrating multiple sensor technologies into a unified system. While others focused on single-mode sensors like LIDAR or EMI, we saw the opportunity to merge sensor capabilities for comprehensive soil analysis.
In late 2020, our innovative spirit led to another milestone when CEO Lars Dyrud developed a method for precisely measuring soil carbon. This advancement opened new opportunities for EarthOptics in the carbon market, extending our expertise beyond traditional agriculture into rangeland and grassland management. By delivering critical soil data, we empower landowners to make smarter, more sustainable decisions that benefit their operations and the environment.
EarthOptics also began harnessing the power of biology within the soil to predict agronomic outcomes with remarkable accuracy. By analyzing soil biology, we can forecast key field conditions with 90% confidence before the growing season begins. This predictive capability empowers farmers to optimize product placement for all essential agronomic inputs, driving profitability and sustainable farming practices.
Combining these two innovations, we tackle agriculture's most elusive challenges: accurately measuring and mapping soil nutrients, soil compaction, biology, and carbon. Our solution gives farmers precise insights, reducing unnecessary input costs and promoting carbon retention for healthier soils.
EarthOptics is committed to advancing climate-smart farming and soil health, driving sustainable agriculture forward with cutting-edge technology and data-driven insights.
