Dr. Edward O. Fryar, Jr

Dr. Fryar is a Director of FHB Ventures, an Ag Tech investment company. Dr. Fryar was the founder and CEO of Ozark Mountain Poultry, which he built into an industry leader in producing antibiotic and animal by-product free, non-GMO poultry. Dr. Fryar successfully sold OMP in 2018. Prior to founding OMP, Dr. Fryar was a professor of Agricultural Economics at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville. His areas of research were grain and poultry marketing and price risk management. He has over 50 professional publications and 40 years of professional experience in agriculture.
Dr. Fryar serves on the Board of Trustees for the University of Arkansas System and has served on the Council of Economic Advisors for the Governors of Arkansas since 1983. He served on the Agribusiness Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis from 2014 to 2019 and on the Board of Directors of the National Chicken Council from 2002 to 2018.
He received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Department of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness at the University of Arkansas and was inducted into the Arkansas Agricultural Hall of Fame.
Dr. Fryar has a BA Degree in Economics and MS Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Arkansas and a PHD in Agricultural and Applied Economics from the University of Minnesota.
