Marissa brings a wealth of experience to EarthOptics, specializing in addressing the intricate data challenges unique to the agricultural domain. Throughout her academic research, Marissa focused on the development and application of data assimilation methodologies in forest ecology and agriculture. After graduate school, Marissa honed her expertise as a machine learning scientist, focusing on the design, development, and application of machine learning models tailored to support the agronomic goals of diverse clientele. With a strong belief in the transformative potential of data science to enhance agricultural practices for the benefit of growers, consumers, and the environment, Marissa’s passion and dedication seamlessly align with EarthOptics’ mission. Beyond her professional endeavors, Marissa enjoys bouldering and sport climbing in Minnesota and wherever else in the U.S. she can make time to travel to. Her interests also include urban forestry, reading, backpacking, needlework, and spending quality time with friends and family.
